Vampires, a review and some Dick, oh my!

Still working away on my vampire novel revisions. So much for it being a novella; the characters have decided I need to sex up the book and because of this it's going to shoot (snerk) way, way, way past the 50k mark. And my readjusted guesstimate of 55k. If it tickles 60k, then...I give in. I'll stop claiming I have any control over what my characters do.

I know, darlings. I'm so precious.

But! Dr. Spencer Flynn popped my reviewcherry earlier, or at least Mandi at SmexyBooks did after reading Plus One. The two halves of the book struck different notes for her, but she was very complimentary about my voice:
Plus One is the first book I have read by Scarlett Parrish and I really love her voice. The first half of the book is SO GOOD. Take this more awkward, mature math professor and pair him with a very mouthy (but not annoying) young adult who is also very nervous at this blooming romance, and their sex scenes just make me shiver. They are so well done – they are very dirty, and very erotic, but the actual characters themselves are so shy and nervous, that it is a great combination.
...and Lydia's social circle:
...when Lydia hangs with her group of friends to gossip about Spencer or life in general, it very much reminds me of Bridget Jones Diary, and her friends in a pub scene. They are all foul-mouthed (which I love) and had me cracking up in every scene.
Mandi wrapped things up with a huge compliment:
I definitely like Scarlett Parrish’s voice and will be seeking out more of her books.

Richard Armitage recommends you go read it.
He's got a gun. You probably shouldn't argue with him.
